At Sporty Bees, we provide high-quality after-school sports clubs and sessions for children. We value belonging, identity and having sports fun as well as learning skills and being competitive. We want sport to improve children's mental health and wellbeing.

Sporty Bees is a local business with a wide reach. We are is company dedicated to serving the sporting needs of our local communities. We are supported by local schools and universities in the UK.

Our team at Sporty Bees is made up of passionate teachers and sports enthusiasts who understand the importance of having fun whilst learning new skills. Every child is different and we're dedicated to to helping children meet their sporting needs.

We believe in making sports accessible to every child and for sports to be engaging and fun. Sporty Bees is where sports clubs meets scouts clubs - children receive badges on their shirt after completing weekly activities.

Sporty Bees provides a wide range of dance classes to primary schools on request. This includes Street Dance; Acro-Dance; Contemporary Dance; Theatre Dance, and a range of other dance specialisms. Most dance classes involve music and lots of movement and exercise - dance keeps children fit and healthy. The focus is learning dance by having fun.
Sporty Bees Basketball and Netball can take place indoors or outdoors at your primary school. Sporty Bees often uses t-shirts with funky basketball and netball badges that attach to the shirts. It is a fun and engaging way to learn these key sports. Sporty Bees staff have conducted research on professional netball and inclusivity - see one research article here: 'Do full-grown men really play Netball?'
Our martial arts staff are usually black belts in their discipline and provide the highest quality teaching and learning from Ju-Jitsu; Karate; Kickboxing; Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, and other martial arts. We work with martial arts centres from around the UK and will always prioritise using professionals local to your primary school.
Our Boxing staff work with all ages including both primary and secondary schools, focussed punching pads, and often mixed with kickboxing, to practice high powered kicks. Note that Box Fitness does not involve direct punching to the head.
Sporty Bee Athletics is made up of a trio of running, jumping and throwing sessions involving different athletics games in every session. All our current Athletics classes use Sporty Bee shirts with velcro, and children receive weekly reward badges. Athletics games involve 'hurdle shoot' (jumping hurdles and finishing with a goal); 'throlf' (throwing golf) and 'dodge run' (a version of dodgeball). Sporty Bees recently wrote to Team GB for guest appearances of star athletes at our primary schools - we await to hear from them. Check this website for news.
All karate staff are currently all black belts and well established coaches who are experienced at working with children. We do karate in order to keep fit, use self-defence and to develop discipline and focus. It's great for the body and mind. All our staff have enhanced DBS checks and are put through a set of training practices in accordance with our safeguarding policies.

We work with local industry experts, in music, dance, theatre, and the film industry to bring the very best of tuition to your school. We are different to other sports and after-school clubs because we have links with multiple partnering organisations to bring the right expertise to you. With unlimited staffing we have unlimited potential to bring you the very best.
Drawing on the expertise of Hip-Hop dance teachers, Sporty Bees is proud to deliver Hip-Hop to both primary and secondary schools. Hip-Hop culture emerged as an art movement in the borough of the Bronx, New York City, and has become a world-wide phenomena known for quick and up-beat movements, and cool funky beats.

Jessie is an expert in childhood studies and education (UCL), with a career lecturing in a number of prestigious universities in the UK. She has published many books and articles on young people and education, and has taught and cared for children in previous careers. Jessie brings a wealth of expertise to Sporty Bees.

Brian has been teaching in education for 20 years, and has published several books on community, culture and society, and academic articles, including inclusivity in netball and sport. Brian appeared on BBC South Today in 2025, advocating for the next generation of young people.

Having also completed UK tours with accessible theatre companies, Mary-Ellen brings a wealth of inclusive, real-world experience to her teaching. Having worked internationally and trained in London, she creates engaging, energetic classes that inspire confidence, creativity, and a love for performance.

Sophie teaches athletics at Sporty Bees. As an athletics enthusiast, Sophie enjoys many different sports, including swimming and canoeing, but specialises in throwing events such as shot put, hammer, and discus. Sophie studies psychology and sport, and also brings her experience of playing and coaching netball to Sporty Bees.

At Sporty Bees, we're more than just a business - we're a community of experts from a wide range of professions. Our lead consultant and guest actor Mark Carlisle, has featured in TV programmes such as The Crown, Emmerdale and Casualty, among dozens of other films, dramas, and theatre productions. We are proud to have Mark support Sporty Bees.

Gary Howe delivers Martial Arts Fitness for Sporty Bees. Gary is a black belt in Judo and a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (2nd Degree). Gary runs Carlson Gracie in Farnborough. Sporty Bees is honoured to have Gary's expertise used within Sporty Bees.

He is an affiliate member of the UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) and is working towards his formal certification as a UKSCA trainer.

Our expert staff is available to provide advice and guidance on everything from selecting the right gear to developing a training plan. We also offer custom team apparel and equipment to help your team stand out on the field or court.

Athletics has been taught at Sporty Bees schools using the expertise of amateur athletes, PE teachers, and scholars whose expertise focuses on the use of bodies in sport and physical activity. We have a mixture of tutors with level 2 coaching qualifications, as well as those with PhDs. Athletics is centred around running, jumping and throwing games played weekly.
Both Basketball and Netball are delivered for girls and boys of all ages (4-11 years). We are proud to play a range of different games weekly, with drills, but also fun activities. We do cater for different age groups but often split the group, and can have multiple staff delivering the sessions.
Sporty Bees is proud to invite the best martial arts experts to our Primary Schools and deliver Martial Arts Fitness. To date, we have always used a black belt expert from either Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Taekwondo, or Judo. Some of our martial arts may use boxing or kickboxing too. We always try to use local clubs, so that after practicing after-school, children have follow-on to pursue afterwards.

Sporty Bees theatre dance is world class. Some of our dance teachers have university degrees in dance, whilst others have worked for employers like Disney. Be sure to be taught by world class dance tutors at your school.
